Most venues hand you a key. We hand you a wedding.
When a couple books Wintergreen Woods, what's reserved isn't a venue rental — it's the full wedding. Ceremony space, reception hall, dinner, the wedding cake, sound, lighting, a coordinator, the bar, and the cleanup. Most of what couples elsewhere assemble from a half-dozen separate vendors is already part of the package here. Below is what that means, room by room, from the day you arrive to the moment we walk you out.
Your Spaces
Three ceremony settings. One reception hall. Outdoor space all day.
Your wedding day moves through the whole property. You choose the ceremony setting in the morning. The celebration moves indoors and outdoors as the evening unfolds. Every space on the grounds is yours for the day.

Ceremony
Three settings, included: the Garden, the Covered Veranda, and the Lawn. Each holds up to 150 guests. Choose your primary the morning of, or hold the Covered Veranda as a weather backup — the crew can transition between settings in under ten minutes.

Reception Hall
A fully decorated indoor reception space with tables, chairs, linens, centerpieces, and ambient lighting in place when you arrive. The bride's dressing room is just off the main hall. French doors open to the patio so guests can move freely between inside and outside through the evening.

Outdoor Reception
A covered patio with the cabana bar, wrought iron tables and chairs, garden landscape lighting, and topiary lights threaded through the trees. Heaters in winter and evaporative cooling in summer keep the outdoor spaces comfortable in every season.
Catering & Cuisine

Every wedding includes a heavy hors d'oeuvres buffet, prepared and served by our own staff.
Couples choose from twelve buffet categories — meats, seasonal vegetables, cheeses, sandwiches, dips, and beverages — and our kitchen builds the menu around the selections. A live carving board and a sauté station anchor the buffet as signature courses. Service runs throughout the reception with staff on the floor for the full evening, from setup through the last dessert plate.
Couples who want something beyond the buffet — a specific dish for a parent's anniversary, a regional specialty for out-of-town guests, a charcuterie spread for cocktail hour — we can talk through it on your tour. Most couples find the package menu covers what they imagined; the option to add something distinctive is always open.

The Wedding Cake
Your cake, fully custom.
A wedding cake designed for the wedding, not the menu.
Your wedding cake is included in every package. Multi-layered. Flavors of your choosing. Design, configuration, and cake topper all shaped around what you want. The cake table arrives ready — silver or crystal champagne cooler, the toasting glasses, the cake knife and server, the cutting station fully appointed.
Cake cutting is handled by our team at no additional charge. A wedding cake is usually a separate vendor and a real line item on most wedding budgets. Here, it's part of the package — chosen with you, made for the day.
Bar & Beverages
Your bar, our bartender.
Bar service, set up and staffed by us. Beverages, brought by you.
Wintergreen Woods provides the bar setup, the bartender, ice, cups, napkins, stirrers, mixers, and cooling tubs. Couples bring their own alcohol — the wine they like, the beer their cousins drink, the bourbon for the late-evening toast. This model keeps costs flexible (you buy what you'll actually use, not what a venue marks up) and gives you complete control over what's served.
Worth knowing upfront
Bottled beer is replaced with cans or kegs at the bar (industry standard for safety). Wine and liquor in bottles are welcome. Liquor liability insurance is the couple's responsibility — we can point you to local options if you haven't sourced one before.
The quiet detail
We have pre-negotiated arrangements with regional beer and wine distributors that allow returns of unopened alcohol. Couples have walked out of their wedding with a refund on what their guests didn't drink.
Coordination, Setup & Service
Our team runs your day.
A day-of coordinator is included in every package. The full setup — tables, chairs, linens, place settings, centerpieces — is in place before you arrive. Breakdown and cleanup are ours when the night ends. You and your family don't haul anything home except the leftover cake and the wedding album you'll eventually buy.

A twenty-two-speaker integrated sound system covers both the indoor reception hall and the outdoor patio. Our sound technician functions as your DJ — running music from our extensive library or yours, managing announcements, and handling all transitions. Wireless microphones for toasts and ceremonies, MC service, a projector and screen for slideshow tributes, all part of the package. You bring the playlist; we run the audio.
The ambient lighting is in place when you arrive — up-lighting on the walls, candles and oil lamps on the tables, dimmable overhead lights, garden landscape lighting outdoors, and the topiary trees threaded with mini lights. Outdoor patio spaces are climate-controlled in every season: evaporative cooling in summer, heaters in winter. The room is ready. The grounds are ready. Your guests step out of the cold or the heat into something already comfortable.
Customization
Built so you'll rarely need to add. Open if you want to.
Most couples find the package covers what they imagined. The flowers from our collection, the decor we set up, the lighting we install — for the majority of weddings hosted here, it's exactly the right amount of detail, neither too sparse nor too ornate.
If your vision asks for something specific, the option is always open. What we tell couples honestly: when you bring in outside vendors and source things separately, the total cost of your wedding ends up running 25 to 30 percent higher than letting us handle it all through the package. Some couples have a specific vision worth that premium; most discover the package was already covering it. We'll walk through whatever you have in mind on your tour and price every option transparently before you commit.

The Details
A few things our couples didn't realize were already part of the package.
A bride's dressing room
Off the main hall, fully appointed, mirror lit. For the morning of, the time before the ceremony, the moment between toasts. Yours throughout your wedding.
Complimentary champagne
A bottle of champagne for the bride and groom, waiting at the cake table when the reception begins. For the toast, for the photo, for the only moment the day will pause.
Your wedding meal, set aside
Couples are famously too busy to eat at their own wedding. So our kitchen sets aside one of everything from your menu — every meat, every cheese, every dish — in a separate container just for the two of you. Eat it that night, the next morning, or whenever you finally sit down together.
Leftover food, packaged for family
The rest of the buffet doesn't go to waste either. Whatever remains is packaged for the wedding party or close family to take home, or delivered to wherever you're staying that night. If you'd prefer a basket for nicer presentation, bring your own; we'll fill it.
All-night staff presence
A Customer Relations Assistant on hand throughout the day and evening. Whatever comes up — a forgotten lighter, a misplaced veil, a guest who needs to find their Uber — there's always someone to ask.
Parking, handled
Guests park on arrival and walk in to a fully staffed welcome. No congestion, no improvised overflow, no missed entrances.
The Night Before
Many of our couples rehearse here, too.
A rehearsal dinner the evening before your wedding can be hosted on the same grounds — same kitchen, same coordinator, same family welcoming you in. It's the way most couples we've hosted have done it for thirty years.
Where Your Wedding Party Stays
Two Marriott properties, ten minutes away.
For out-of-town guests and the wedding party itself, we've arranged a dedicated corporate booking with two Marriott properties in West Columbia — the Residence Inn and the TownePlace Suites. Both are extended-stay suite hotels about ten to fifteen minutes from the venue, with kitchens in the rooms and space for the bridesmaids to get ready, the kids to spread out, or the out-of-state guests to settle in.
Booking is flexible: no deposit required, and rooms can be cancelled at no charge up to forty-eight hours before arrival. For wedding party group blocks, Marriott's group booking team can be reached through the reservation contact on the co-branded booking page.

How is pricing structured?

Pricing is set by guest count and includes everything described on this page — ceremony space, reception hall, all catering and service, the wedding cake, decor, lighting, sound, coordination, and full setup, breakdown, and cleanup. Taxes and gratuity are included; the number you see is the number you pay. We share specific pricing once we know your date and approximate guest count, so the figure reflects what your wedding actually looks like rather than a range that wouldn't apply to you. On your tour, we walk through it together.
